Looking for a "cool" place to get away, relax by a quiet stream and sip a glass of champagne? You have found it. L'Auberge, Sedona is the place for you. Mr. Five Star was here May 23, 2006. The weather couldn't have been better. That Arizona dry air, temperatures in the 70's and not a cloud in the sky. L'Auberge is located in the pines, stream side seemingly away from it all, but not really. Just a short walk or "Hillavator", ride away. Hillavator is correct, you know, like elevator. This device takes you up the hill. Rooms, Suites, Cottages there is room for everyone.
There were a couple of glitches I discovered during my visit: They still have those old plastic room keys, you know the ones with holes punched in them. I thought they were long ago gone in places like this. Well, they work fine so perhaps It's no big deal. However the carpet in the Restaurant is badly worn. The carpet in the Lodge rooms needs to be updated. Actually the entire place could use a minor face lift. These glitches in themselves won't prevent me from returning, because the entire experience, location, food and overall friendliness mostly made up for the few deficiencies.
