Mr Five Star and World Travel and Dinning Reviews & Resources
Elway's-Cherry Creek

My first visit to Elway’s Colorado Steak House July 8, 06 was an eye opener. The preconceived idea that this was some kind of a sports, jock venue was quickly changed the moment I walked through the door. Many millions have been spent on this establishment to create a clubby, conservative contemporary, New York type atmosphere. There is the marble and water fall as you enter with lots of wood everywhere. This restaurant seats a lot of people, but the way it is divided you don’t get the impression how large it really is.

Elway’s is well managed with Manager, Tom Moxcey keeping a close eye on every table as he slowly cruises the restaurant constantly. He stops at tables to say hello, pitches in to pour water or discretely signals for the waiter or bus person to attend to something he sees not quite the way he wants it. I was told by numerous people who should know that Elway’s is as good, or better than the other top Steak restaurants in Denver, but I had to see for myself. When I did my own survey with people like Broadcaster and restaurateur Pierre Wolfe and JW Marriott Concierges Don and Allen Scott, they all said, “Ron, you are going to be surprised”. Elway’s exceeded my wildest expectations in décor, service, menu, food preparation, presentation and overall value. Don’t get me wrong; Elway’s is not cheep as everything is alacarte, like most all the other similar steak houses. If you want a great evening with wonderful food and you don’t mind shelling out a few extra bucks, Elway’s is the place for you in the Cherry Creek area of Denver.
