Unlike MaxJet, ATA and Aloha, Frontier is still flying. We at MrFiveStar are pulling for you. We love Frontier. We go out of our way to fly Frontier because of the service and friendly people, all the way from the reservation department to the flight attendants. Come on Colorado, think first of Frontier on your next trip even if it costs a little more, support the Colorado economy. Support our hometown airline.
Frontier Airlines was cleared by the bankrupty court Friday to continue operations as it reorganizes under bankruptcy protection. The Denver-based airline is continuing to operate while reorganizing, a process expected to take nine to 18 months. Frontier blamed the action on an "unexpected attempt by its principal credit-card processor to substantially increase a 'holdback' of customer receipts, which threatened to severely impact the airline's liquidity." Frontier's credit-card processor is First Data Corp., a Greenwood Village-based company. "Frontier is committed to delivering exceptional customer service, and we intend to continue delivering on that promise with normal operations throughout our reorganization process," Read more from the Denver Post, click here. The legendary Phoenix rose up in the desert and so has the town of Glendale, AZ. Glendale is one of the western communities with a growth spurt due to the current development in downtown Phoenix spreading north, south and west. In 2006, Phoenix was listed as the 5th largest city in the United States with a population of 1,512,986. With an arid climate, the “Valley of the Sun” has an annual average maximum temperature of 100 degrees F and is the highest of any major U.S. city. Located in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, Phoenix has an annual average temperature of 72 degrees F.
The mythical “Phoenix” bird, bedecked in feathers of red and gold, stands for rebirth and resurrection. Phoenix, Arizona was named as a rebirth of the Hohokam Indian civilization that founded the area. You’ll also find the Phoenix bird on the city’s logo and flag.
Neighboring Glendale is like an oasis in the desert featuring the newest 12-story four-star Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa (a John Q. Hammons hotel) with 320 rooms, three presidential suites, 46 suites, and two concierge levels. The suites have cable high-def TV, a microwave, mini refrigerator, in room coffee and tea service and a work desk equipped with a Jack Pack dataport for your Internet audio and video use. The contemporary beds are furnished with fine linens, soft pillows, a comforter and a colorful designer duvet reflecting the warm reds, oranges and golds of the desert and setting sun. There is a modern shoji-style sliding screen between the bedroom and luxurious bath with a whirlpool tub. You can leave the screen open as you relax in the tub and gaze out at the setting sun. The adjoining sitting area provides a table and two chairs for in-room dining from room service. The contemporary couch and chair offers comfort and a place to sit back and relax.
The contemporary marble-tiled lobby has a 3-story colored glass sculpture and water fountain. There are colorful and comfortable chairs for lounging and celebrity watching.
Soleil Restaurant features upscale casual dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try Executive Chef Scott Cape’s luscious Lobster Omelet for breakfast, and contemporary American Cuisine with a Southwest flavor for lunch and dinner. Ray’s lobby bar serves beverages and light appetizers. Refresco’s serves cuisine poolside. Caffeina’s Marketplace Café has wireless Internet access and your favorite mocha latte served at Starbucks.

Once again Del Fresco Double Eagle Steak House scores # 1 with the MrFiveStar team for the third straight year. Our associate’s unanimously agree Del Fresco by a nose edges ahead of the herd. What a difficult decision! After all look where we had to go, several times to come up with this proclamation. We visited Ruth’s Chris, Smith & Wollensky, Bern’s Steak House, Tampa, Morton’s Steak Houses, Peter Luger’s NY, Elway’s Denver, Steak House 10 Denver, Shula’s Miami, and Jackson’s Fort Lauderdale only to mention a few. First let me say, if you want a really great steak I promise you will get one at any of the above restaurants all across America. Everyone mentioned has fabulous food and most have excellent management that really care about their patrons. Click here to go to Del Fresco’s web site.
Here is an example, Tommy, Moxcey the GM at Elway’s in Denver has his eye on everyone very second that the restaurant is open, he will water tables, clear tables, greet everyone like you are a rock star and directs his staff like a Marine First Sergeant. Tom knows how to run a first class operation. The Kallas Greek brothers at Steakhouse 10 Denver really treat you like family on your first visit, here the food is excellent and the price is right.
So why did we choose Del Fresco to be # 1 again this year, mainly because of the package. The ambiance in each location is superb, the consistency of service and food preparation was found to be a cut above the rest, not much but just enough to keep them in the # 1 position. Please send us an email with your favorite Steak House.
The next page provides you with some excellent direct links to the above restaurants plus some other sites and their ideas of the best Steak Houses across America.

Here is a story I hate to write. Maxjet airline is gone. Maxjet created a niche market by flying from New York, Washington, Las Vegas and LA to a little known airport to most Americans, Stansted; just north of London. I had the pleasure of being an invited guest aboard the inaugural flight from Las Vegas to Stansted November 2006. I further had the pleasure of interviewing and chatting with Ken Wooley on the flight across the Atlantic. If I were a betting man I would have bet the farm on Maxjet, just because Ken Wooley was one of the founders and an original investor in Jet Blue. It is my opinion, Ken is a real smart guy who saw an opportunity for an all Business Class airline and put it together. Ken also put his money where his mouth is and at the beginning was the largest single investor. Read more about MaxJet here.

Try to book into The Plaza New York on your next trip. Stay in a part of American History.
Conrad Hilton bought the Plaza for $7.4 million in 1943 and spent $6.0 million to refurbish the original. Hilton called the Plaza the smartest hotel in America. Hilton later sold the Plaza when he bought the Waldorf-Astoria.

I get to work with many famous and interesting people. Laura Ingraham is one of those I had the pleasure to spend time with when she broadcast her nationwide show from our studios in Vail Colorado January 2006.
Laura is truly a wonderful person and a great talent. After graduating from Dartmouth College, Laura worked as a speechwriter in the final two years of the Reagan Administration at the White House, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Education. She went on to graduate from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was Notes Editor of the Law Review. She served as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and Ralph K. Winter on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. After clerking, Laura worked as a white-collar criminal defense attorney for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Laura launched "The Laura Ingraham Show" in 2001.
In addition to hosting her own syndicated radio program, Laura is an author, frequent columnist, and television commentator. Her book The Hillary Trap, first released in June 2000, was recently re-released in an updated paperback version. Her second book, Shut Up & Sing: How the Elites in Hollywood, Politics...and the UN are Subverting America is a bestseller. Ingraham's most recent book, Power to the People, was released on September 11, 2007, and topped Amazon's bestseller list on September 14.
John R. Gambling (born 1950) is the son of John A. Gambling and the grandson of John B. Gambling, and as such was the third-generation host of The Gambling family's very-long-running New York morning radio show Rambling with Gambling. When WOR ended Rambling with Gambling in 2000 after 75 years on the air, John R. Gambling moved up the dial to WABC, taking over the post-morning-drive 10 a.m. - noon slot. Gambling was fired by WABC on February 29, 2008 in a cost-cutting move. Politically, Gambling describes himself as a "moderate conservative"; as such, he differed from the orthodox movement conservatism of most of WABC's other hosts.

Robert Keenan Winery 2006 Chardonnay, Napa Valley Spring Mountain District is the MrFiveStar Chardonnay pick this month. This wine retalis in Florida for aboyt $35.00
The 2006 Chardonnay was hand harvested, de-stemmed, then gently pressed. Twenty percent of the juice was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks, while eighty percent was fermented and aged in French and American oak barrels. No secondary, or malolactic fermentation was carried out, leading to the crisp, citrus character of this wine. The portion of Chardonnay aged in barrel was left on its lees and stirred weekly. The wine was bottled after approximately seven months of aging in the cellar.
The finished wine shows citrus, ripe pear and green apple in the nose. Hints of lush white peach are noticed as the wine opens up. The sur-lie aging has added richness and complexity, a touch of oak character returns on the finish as well as a hint of minerality. Like all of Keenan’s wines, this Chardonnay is a food worthy wine whose crisp acidity and medium body will accompany a wide variety of food fare.
