 Swiss Chalet Featuring traditional European cuisine by our Executive Chef in a classic Swiss-style setting, the Swiss Chalet offers the ultimate alpine dining experience. Käse Spätzle (homemade Swiss dumpling filled with cheese and topped with roasted onions) and delicious fondues make the Swiss Chalet a delectable dining experience. Save room for freshly made desserts like Austrian apple strudel and chocolate fondue.
The Swiss Chalet is located in the heart of Vail across the street from the Vail Interfaith Chapel.
MrFiveStar and Helga. Helga has been the Swiss Chalet Manager ever since I have been coming here. At the Sonnenalp it's about family. Helga and her husband have been with the Sonnenalp for 18 years. Prior to the Sonnenalp, Helga was at the St. Regis in New York City for many years. Willy her husband was the baker for the entire Sonnenalp Resort. Willy makes the best Stollen on the planet.
Here at the Swiss Chalet, bring the kids they will really enjoy the Fondue. I really like the Raclet. Remember to plan ahead because the Swiss is a tough last minute seating.
Time moves on and so has Helga and her husband Willy. Now Helga is sipping wine in Austria.
I was last here in April 2009. The Swiss is still the BEST!
