American Airlines also features onboard Internet on selected flights. May 2010 Orlando to Dallas. Great connection 56mbps, they use "gogo" as well. American charged $9.95 I tuned in the GABRadioNetwork and listened for two hours without one interruption.
AirTran June 11, 2009: On a flight between Atlanta and Orlando I was able to access the Internet at 36,000 feet using the “gogo” system on board. Wow! This was easy. My little Acer Aspire computer's internal wireless card locked on and after 2 minutes of setting up an account I was surfing the Internet. The speed is fast, 54.0 Mbps. This was fast enough to quickly log on to AOL IM and establish a video IM with my office. The cost was $9.95 on this short flight. I understand the price can get up to $14.95 on an LA to NYC flight. Regardless of the cost this is a great way to communicate with your office, follow-up on your email and just stay in touch in real time. I was also able to listen to streaming audio from our various radio stations and the GABRadioNetwork. Airtran expects to provide this service on all flights in their fleet by this fall. Click here to learn more about other airlines that will be providing this service and find out more about gogo.
